Thank you and Sorry

A message from our owner - Paul Meek

I am extremely sorry that it has come to this, but the Kichesippi Brewery will be closing its doors at the end of service on Friday March 6th.  The brewery is currently operating at a loss and has been for some time.

We are in the awkward position of not having enough money to brew more beer, which results in not having enough beer to make more money. The staff have done an incredible job handling many customer inquiries regarding our inventory issues over the past weeks and months. It has been unfair to repeatedly put them in that position, and I am very sorry for that.  The team here at Kichesippi are amazing, and the uncertainty they have recently endured has been challenging to say the least.

Over the past year, I have worked on numerous scenarios to keep this team employed and our brand alive. As of today, however, I have not been able to secure long-term viability and profitability for Kichesippi Beer Co.   Options such as borrowing money, taking on new shareholders, selling the entire company and merging with other breweries have all been explored.

I will be reaching out with further updates closer to March 6th.  It is hard to properly summarize a proper thank you to everyone in this community who has supported our family business since 2010.  I am beyond grateful for everything up to this point, and I know our staff are as well.

Sincerely, Paul Meek

I have no doubt there will be lots of questions about all of this, so hopefully the details below will answer a few of them.  If you have any other questions, please email me at orders@kbeer.ca and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

There are no products on the website, do you have any cans available in the retail store?

As of Friday, February 27th we have a small amount of Heller Lager and Sasquatch Schnitzel Vienna Lager available in cans.  We also have stock of wine, cider, hard seltzers and some merchandise.  Our Taproom is well set up with lots of beverage and food options.

Are you still doing home deliveries?

Due to the lack of inventory, we are no longer delivering.

How does this affect The Commons on Sparks Street?

The only thing that will change at The Commons, is there will soon be less Kichesippi products on the shelves and on the taps at this location.  This location will continue to provide our customers with a selection of locally roasted coffee, Ontario Craft Beer and our curated wine selection.
