KICHESIPPI MASK POLICY

Mandatory Use of Mask within 
ANY LICENSED AREA OF KICHESIPPI BEER CO.
Beginning July 7, 2020, all staff, visitors and customers are required to wear a mask upon entering and remaining within:
A SERVICE AREA, INCLUDING: 
BEER GARDEN/PATIO, TAPROOM, BREWERY PRODUCTION AREA, RETAIL STORE, CORRIDORS, HALLWAYS AND DOORWAYS, FOOD TRUCK LINE, WHEN ORDERING OR WAITING FOR FOOD FROM A FOOD TRUCK ON THE PREMISES.
MASKS CAN ONLY BE REMOVED AFTER YOUR ORDER ARRIVES AT YOUR TABLE AND MUST BE PUT BACK ON PRIOR TO GETTING UP, OR WHEN DONE EATING OR DRINKING.
The mask must securely cover the nose, mouth and chin. Temporary removal of the mask is permitted where necessary while maintaining 2 metres physical distance for the purposes of receiving services, consuming food and/beverages.
The following persons are exempted from requiring a mask and will not be required to provide proof of such exemption, any person who: 
  • is younger than two (2) years of age
  • has an underlying respiratory condition that prevents them from safety wearing a mask (face shield is required in place of mask).
  • has an physical or developmental disorder that prevents them from wearing a Mask or shield,  
  • is unable to put on or remove their Mask without the assistance of another person,
  • is employed by or is an agent of the Operator of an Enclosed Public Space and: 1. is in an area of the premises that is not designated for public access, or 2. is within or behind a physical barrier (e.g., Plexiglass). 
Signage on the requirement is posted and visible to the public. This policy has been created in compliance with the directive of the Medical Officer of Health under the authority of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA) Ontario Regulation 263/20. 
Staff are trained on the policy, including how to respond in various circumstances:
  • customer arrived without a mask because they forgot or don't have one - 
    • We offer a limited number of disposable and reusable masks and face shields for sale,
    • We are happy to process a take out beer order from the retail store window,
    • An online order can be created on a smartphone for curbside pick up
    • A qualifying online order can be placed for free home delivery
  • customer who is exempt from wearing a mask
    • We offer a face sheild for those with respiratory problems, 
    • children of those physically unable to wear a mask are seated with additional social distancing from other groups,
    • are asked to remain at their table unless using the washroom (we are happy to place their food order at a truck if no one in the party is able)
  • customer wanting more information about the policy
    • Are asked to email mike@kbeer.ca, or visit our COIVD info center in the retail store and online at www.kbeer.ca/pages/visit-us
  • customer who becomes aggressive about the new requirement
    • Are subject to the provisions outlined in our harassment policy and the Liquor License Act, and may be asked to leave the premises if their actions are deemed undesirable.
  • customer asking about the availability of alcohol-based hand sanitizer (70-90% alcohol concentration)
    • Are directed to any of the 4 sanitizer stations located throughout the service areas.
  • customer who wants to know if they can be fined.
    • Are directed to visit our COIVD info center in the retail store and online at www.kbeer.ca/pages/visit-us
