Ottawa's logging industry started in the early 1800s and had a significant economic impact on the National Capital Region. The hardworking loggers built massive rafts for the logs to travel down river en route to Quebec City. An estimated 14 billion logs traveled down the river as part of the lumber trade. Unlike British Porters, this rare beer style is brewed with lager yeast. This beer has been lightly hopped for a clean dry finish.
